【巴比倫之聲BABYLON CALLING】

►原型

正建造著、攀爬著那座彷彿通往世界頂端的高塔的人們，聽到了什麼？

公元前19世纪，阿摩利人在美索不達米亞平原建立了古巴比倫王國。

巴比倫城位於幼發拉底河和底格裡斯河交匯的豐饒之地，是人類文明的搖籃。

聖經中的《創世紀》第11章第4節如此紀錄著古巴比倫城的人們，

「他們說，來吧、我們要建造一座城、和一座塔、塔頂通天，為要傳揚我們的名、免得我們分散在全地上。」

這座巴比倫塔，又稱巴別塔、通天塔。根據歷史記載，在這座金碧輝煌的巴比倫城裡，

人們沉醉在物質的享受與自身的權力之中，最後因為過度狂妄自負而遭致滅亡。

►意念

開荒毀林、種族迫害、石油戰爭、基因改造、核武競賽、媒體控制，

人類文明如此運作與擴張著，透過對帝國的慾望與對科技的崇拜，

21世紀裡的巴比倫城亦正興建，不斷堆砌高築自身強權的磚瓦城牆。

「巴比倫之聲」系列派對，試圖以電子音樂模擬／想像／再現這具文明機器，

從邊陲到中心、從遠古到當代，創造與殺戮過程裡的種種細微聲音與情境。

►聲音

以Techno為主的機械質感與強烈線條，呈現當代的巴比倫史詩。

What did people hear when they were building and climbing the tower which lead to the top of this world?

19 A. D., Amorites constructed the Babylonian empire in Mesopotamia. The town of Babylon, located on Euphrates and Tigris, is the cradle of human civilization. People in the town of Babylon is recorded in Genesis 11:4. They said: “come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top reaches the sky. Let us make a name for ourselves, so that we are not scattered the face of the earth.”

This Babylon tower was called Babel. According to the history, people indulged themselves with material comforts and authority in this magnificent Babylon tower, but they were destroyed by their own arrogance.

►idea

Wasteland deforestation, racial persecution, oil war, genetically modified, nuclear race and media monopoly; human civilization has developed and operate through the desire of empire and worship of technology. The tower of Babel is also under construction in 21st century that continuously are laying in self-authority of brick wall.

"Babylon Calling" party tries to imitate/imagine/present the machine of civilization from border to center and old to future, which creates any micro sound and environment in the slaughter process.

►Sound

Present the poetry of modern Babylon with the industrial texture of Techno music.
