Carlos Zíngaro 1948
Motoki Yoshinori ,

There are many ways to find improvisation within music, whether it be Jazz, Classical, Electric, Rock & Roll, or any other genre. Carlos Zingaro, an amazing violin player and electro-acoustic musician, originally found his improv ability through Classical music, later leading him to Jazz and many other styles throughout his career. Now join him along with three other amazing artists as they show what good sounding impromptu music is all about on May 3 (Fri).
As No. 30 in the KRG music series, the event will be held at Reykjavik Lab starting at 19:30.
Tickets can be purchased online at artsticket for NT$600.
● Carlos Zingaro (Violinist) was born in Portugal in 1948 and studied Classical Music in Lisbon. When he started to pursue his musical career, Portugal’s music scene was particularly hard to enter, and wasn’t open to new styles of music. Many people outside of an educational setting were wary of Jazz because of its relation to African-American culture, so Carlos would rely on friends coming back from overseas and books from America to find news about new styles of music. This led him to join with other Jazz musicians to create an improve band with a free structure. In 1967, he and his friends established the band “Plexus”, which went on to recorde 45 singles. When he was drafted into the Air force in 1969, he started to play the electric guitar, using his free time to hone his skill and learn new sounds.
● Motoki Yoshinori (Saxophone/Every day waste) is a Japanese Saxophonist and musician who also finds ways to use everyday objects to create to instruments and sounds. Using abandon object in his music, Motoki has recorded an album with a unique sound that crosses new barriers in music.» http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPDnukIABDQ »
