An Atomic Whirl (AAW) is an experimental band formed in 2011, with members from Tokyo and the USA. Their songs mix aspects of post-rock and punk, with spoken-word vocals that crescendo into yells and a clarinet adding an element of jazz. Influences include Mogwai, Fantomas, St. Vincent, and The Mars Volta, as well as the band members' various side projects. To date, An Atomic Whirl has played several shows in Tokyo, and they are currently scheduling a 2012 Asia Tour and a European Tour planned for summer 2013.
