Wu So Lui is potentially the most eccentric public figure currently walking the streets of Hong Kong. Pro-wrestler, rock star and party personality, Wu So Lui made his first public appearances in Hong Kong in 2008, when he began happily wreaking havoc and making friends in the mosh pits of the Hong Kong underground music scene.

It seemed natural for Wu So Lui to take his unique energy, a combination of extreme friendliness and extreme aggression, to a context in which it could be usefully applied, and as such he made his debut in the Hong Kong Wrestling Federation in June 2009.

A series of serious injuries(induced by Wu So Lui’s enemies) at the end of 2009 forced Wu So Lui to take a temporary hiatus from the ring, but in March 2010 he not only returned to wrestling but also made his debut as a heavy metal vocalist, publicly combining his love for metal with his love for Cantonese pop with his first public performance of a music genre he calls “CANTOCORE”.

Little is known about Wu So Lui’s past or background, except that he is originally from Australia, proved by his thick accent when speaking both English and Cantonese. Wu So Lui claims to have but few memories of his past life in Australia, or how he arrived in Hong Kong. Rumors suggest Wu So Lui was, in part, raised by wild kangaroos in the Australian bush. This would explain Wu So Lui’s tendency to favour powerful kicking techniques when fighting, and his apparent misunderstanding of human gender fassions, although Wu So Lui neither confirms nor denies these rumors.
