Gin Lane 琴酒徑 , Jack Conqueroo 狼人傑克

Gin Lane makes a return to DC Stage along with good friend and Taiwan's LoW DoWn DiRtieSt OnE MaN BluEs BaNd, Jack Conqueroo. The show starts at 10pm.

GIn Lane is Evan Spinney and Simon Thorley. These two have been playing in Taiwan for over 3 years. The band's genre is hard not nail down, but elements of blues, folk, and jazz are all present in their music. Along with a wide array of styles, Gin Lane hauls around a large collections of instruments, from keyboards and acoustic guitars to saxophones, mandolins, irish whistles and harmonicas.

Jack Conqueroo was born in the swamplands outside Opelousas, Louisiana on the twenty-first of November, 1969. Born to a coonass alligator poacher with a penchant for gator tail and moonshine, Jack grew up in amidst the mangroves, and was transformed by the sounds of the bayou. Jack ran away from home at the age of 5 to join the midway carnival that was parked outside his father's shack. Hellbent on making it in show business, Jack stole his old man's (Jacques Sr.) guitar and started playing for anyone with a nickel or who was willing to listen. Jack, like a good gumbo has been simmerin' to flavor for the last 35 years. Listen carefully you can taste the muddy, sweltering stickiness of swamps Jack called home in his work. Jack continues to entrance bar rooms and concert halls all over the world with his antiquated brand of muddy, lo-Fi, low-down dirty blues set against the vocoded and quantized musical landscape and tastes of his contemporaries. It's all in the roux, people. It's all in the roux!
