Our name is 'I have a new band now'. We are a Jazz trio with saxophone, bass, drums, -- even though we may not exactly sound like a jazz trio. We play free within forms, we improvise, and that's how it sounds: slow, fast, even, odd, tender, gentle, brutish, violent.

The 3 of us live in Taipei/Taiwan: Klaus Bru, the saxophone player, is originally from Germany. He plays a C-Melody saxophone that he treats like an electric guitar. Composer and bass player Martijn Vanbuel from Belgium usually performs on double bass. With us, he plays an orange-red bass guitar. Weichung Lin comes from Taipei/Taiwan. He plays drums and a mixed bag of things in our new band.

You may ask: Why are there only 3 musicians in this new band? That’s because the number of members shouldn’t go below three, if a band is meant to have it all: Melody, harmony, rhythm. Colors, textures, fragrances. Concert pitch, microtones, air sound. Warmth, depth, perspective. Passion, thrill, surprise...

No need to carry on these groups of 3 ad infinitum. Just let us tell you that the 3 of us are very happy to have a new band now.
