Daniel Pearl Day is an international movement that has included more than 12,000 concerts in 132 different countries. The goal is to use music to overcome political, cultural, and religious differences to bring “harmony for humanity.” The event also commemorates the life of Daniel Pearl, the slain Wall Street Journal Reporters. Outside of journalism, Danny Pearl was an accomplished musician, playing the violin and mandolin and frequently seeking out other musicians.
This year, we are pleased to welcome the Idan Raichel Project from Israel, a world class performing group who has participated in other Daniel Pearl World Music Day events. Other music on two outdoor stages will range from rock to reggae, swing, old-time music, Afrobeat, funkfunk, and other rhythms and blues.
