馬泰爾. 薩巴帝尼Matteo Sabattini, 旅美意籍爵士薩克斯演

奏家，編曲家，作曲家，即興演奏家，1972年出生於意大

利的博洛尼亞，⼀一個世界上最早建立大學的城市。馬泰爾

從小受古典和爵士樂熏陶，幼年開始學琴，然後在意大利

最出名的音樂學院之⼀一博洛尼​​亞音樂學院（GBMartini

Music Conservatory) 攻讀古典薩克斯和作曲，獲取古典薩

克斯音樂表演學士學位。然後獲得美國著名爵士大學 (New

School) 高額獎學金，在紐約攻讀爵士薩克斯表演，並獲取

Matteo Sabattini Bio

Matteo Sabattini is an Italian-born alto saxophonist and composer based in New York City. With a range of influences from Charlie Parker to Brad Mehldau and Joshua Redman, but an emerging original voice of his own, Matteo combines the passionate, romantic Italian sense of melody with the polyrhythmic energy of the New York attitude.

Matteo has been living and performing in NYC since 2002 where he is emerging as an original voice of his own. Matteo Sabattini founded the Matteo Sabattini New York Quintet the Matteo Sabattini/Alex Pryrodny Duo in New York. These groups are Matteo’s vehicles to compose and perform new original music as well as arrangements of standards revised in a modern and personal perspective.

MSNYQ debut recording “Dawning” has been released on FreshSound New Talent label in 2011, 2nd album “Metamorpho” was released on the same label in 2012, featuring Chris Potter and Aaron Parks. Both albums have received enthusiastic reviews worldwide. At various times the members of MSNYQ included Mike Moreno and Lage Lund on guitar; Aaron Parks, Frank LoCrasto, Kristjan Randalu, and Tigran Hamasyan on piano; Chris Tordini and Matt Clohesy on bass; Obed Calvaire, Colin Stranahan, Tommy Crane, and Kenny Grohowski on drums.

Matteo has toured with MSNYQ and the duo project in Italy, USA, Germany and Poland, playing at events and venues such as Veneto Jazz Festival, Blue Note Jazz Club Milan and Blue Note Poznan, Jazz Im Quadrat Festival in Mannheim and others. As a sideman, Matteo performed internationally with the Rory Stuart Quartet (Bahamas 2005/2007), Ayako Sato Quartet (Japan 2007), and Vian (South Korea 2008-2010).
