John Ruocco
Mimi Verderame

Gilad Dobrecky Quartet

"An outstanding percussionist of many styles with extraordinary ability."- World Music Institute

"Gilad is a very unique player, his talent places him among the very best of my peers"- Mino Cinelu

"Gilad's success as a performer with Israel's world-class popular and classical musical ensembles prove him to be one of the most accomplished musicians Israel had produced" -Alon Bor, Principle Percussionist with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.

Gilad, percussionist, composer and clinician, has been recognized by Jazziz magazine as one of the world's top percussionist. "An outstanding percussionist of many styles with extraordinary ability" as described by Robert Browning (World Music Institute). "Gilad is a very unique player, his talent places him among the very best of my peers" (Mino Cinelu)."Like Willie Bobo and Alex Acuna, Gilad excels at both drums and percussion -but unlike those great players, the Israel-born, Middle Eastern-inspired player excels at both simultaneously through his hybrid drum/percussion setup."(Bill Meredith, assistant editor, JAZZIZ magazine)

Gilad was considered an outstanding child prodigy. He started performing professionally at the age of 7! He started playing classical music and moved on exploring other styles. He performed with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by the well known Zubin Mehta. He was a founder and player of many ethnic groups, creating and performing new music. He performed in theater and TV productions and he was a first call to many leading pop artists. "Gilad's success as a performer with Israel's world-class popular and classical musical ensembles
prove him to be one of the most accomplished musicians Israel had produced" (Alon Bor, Principle Percussionist with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra).

Since moving to New-York in 1989, Gilad became in constant demand for both live performances and studio recordings in the N.Y. area and all around the world. Gilad had been playing as a member of of Al Di Meola's "World Sinfonia" band. He toured extensively all over the world and played on Di Meola's Word sinfonia CD "The Grand Passion". Gilad's performance and compositional styles draw on diverse range of musical traditions- Middle Eastern, North and West African, Brazilian, Classical and Jazz.

He shares his musical experience with great musicians like Mike Stern, Toots Thielemans, Dennis Chamber, Cornelius Bampus, Randy Brecker, Mark Johnson,Ornette Coleman, Kenny Werner, Oliver Lake , Joshua Redman, Mark Eagen, Richard Bona, Uri kaine, Giora Feigman, Omar Faruk Telibek, and many more.
