Last night LA punk/noise band No Age played at the newly renovated Wall Livehouse in Taipei, joined by Touming Magazine. First up were the locals and one observation I've had lately after seeing many overseas bands play in Taiwan is how high the calibre of the local opening acts are. Touming Magazine were amazing and it wouldn't surprise me if a large portion of the audience were there just to see them. A hard act to follow for sure. No Age are a two-piece though they are joined by a third playing keyboard, samplers and other gizmos for their live shows. Call me old fashioned, but I loved their raw, fast and noisy punk songs more. That said, I do feel that if you weren't too familiar with their songs already, you'd probably dismiss lots of it as just noise.
While the turnout probably wasn't quite up to what the promoters had hoped, it was nonetheless a great show. Cheers Earwax!
As well as taking photos I also had a chat with No Age before the show which you can read here.
